Three...

"Sing"

He said “hey there friend, could you come sit a while with me,
I could use someone to talk to; do you have a moment free?
It’s been dark, it’s been cold being where I’m at –
I may not be proud of the ground that I’ve tread…
the steps I’ve walked on, Or way I’ve spent my time.
But the light still shines, it still breaks through on the cloudiest of days,
And in the quietest of moments, I can still hear a sweet melody…

So sing me a song,
A song of love, faith, and hope,
One of devotion and sacrifice
A song of caring and concern stretching wide
Holding tight no matter the price,
Sing me a song.

It’s hard to watch the news these days
Six o’clock, 11, or midnight’s the same –
Similar pictures just put in a different frame
But even in these dark and desperate days.
The sky is not falling – never has, never will,
Even though the world seems to be spiraling out of control -
We reach for the guardrail, and yearn for something good.
Something we can cling to, something we can hold to.

So sing me a song,
A song of love, faith, and hope,
One of devotion and sacrifice
A song of caring and concern stretching wide
Holding tight no matter the price,
Sing me a song.

Think it over…it may not be the tune you recall,
Think it over…it may just be that you can sing along.

Sing me a song.
A song of love, and faith, and hope,
One of devotion and sacrifice
Of caring and concern stretching wide
Holding us tight no matter the price
Sing me a song.
