Decisions Nobody Wants to Make

Two brothers standing side by side
One was twelve and one was only eight
Mom and dad decided
To go their separate ways
East or west boys, you decide
We’re leaving it to you.
Y’all can choose.

between a rock and a hard place
neither feels secure
The path leads somewhere forward
But its beaten and obscured
When faith feels like it’s hanging
By a single frayed thread
In that open space - are decisions,
Nobody wants to make

It was all machines and wires

Keeping her alive

As friends and relatives

Looked on with moist eyes

How long should this go on

In it’s current state

Who on earth would want to live this way?

Between a rock and a hard place

neither one seems just right

The path leads somewhere through the dark

But it’s hard to see the light

When hope feels like its hanging

By a single frayed thread

And life hangs in the balance

Its an odd and hard space with decisions,

nobody wants to make.

It’s a special kind of pain to be holding the match

To a fire you didn’t want to burn

When it seems like any way you go,

Something you love will go down in flames

some decisions are just hard

And even the toughest heart has moments,

where it feels like it’ll break

Praying in the garden, everything on the line

Friends around so sleepy, they can’t even stay awake

Angels waiting in the wings for a call that won’t be made,

For the man who’s divine nature on view for all to see,

“Not my will but yours be done”

Surrendering in our place, to decisions nobody would want to make

Between a rock and a hard place

Working with intention to make things right

The path leads up to a cross

Where Dark days cannot overwhelm the light

When hope feels like its hanging

By a single frayed thread

He stood there in the balance

And paid the price the ransom

For decisions, nobody wants to make…

Oh decisions, nobody should have made
