Six.

“Traveler’s Tales (Passing Through)”

We’ve been wandering this desert for far too long now
Seems like we can’t find our home, we haven’t found our home.
We’ve seen miracles and things unspeakable
Yet we’ve settled in - wandering this foreign land
We’ve walked miles and miles and we’re still so far from home
So pardon the dust, pardon my far off look, but
Someday we will walk across that threshold and hear…

Welcome home,
So long since I’ve seen your face
I can see you’re not the same
My, how you’ve changed,
what a test you’ve been through
Refined – now the gold shines through
So welcome home.

You ran off early, so young and ready to tell us what and how,
Guess you needed some experience, guess you know now
You’ve suffered some cuts on the blade of this world’s knife
You’ve tasted the treachery of the “easy” life,
Now bleeding, staggering, you’ve stumbled back
Though you’ve lost all you had, though you’ve nothing left
This is still a place where you can find rest, so...

Welcome home,
So long since I’ve seen your face
I can see you’re not the same
My, how you’ve changed,
what a test you’ve been through
Refined – now the gold shines through
So welcome home.

We’ve each got our own journey, our own path to take.
No matter how fast we run, it won’t get us any closer to home
Spending so much time here, but still strangers in this place
One thing we’ve yet to learn, this life is for the passing through.
We get weathered and tested until we’re ready to fly
And one day, when we’re called, we can give it a try
And hear the words with more meaning than we ever knew…

Welcome home,
So long since I’ve seen your face
I can see you’re not the same
My, how you’ve changed,
what a test you’ve been through
Refined – now the gold shines through
So welcome home.

What do you mean, "it's not working"? I think it's great; a good reminder that this world is not our home.
